We are the largest electroplaters of non-conductors (all surfaces excluding metals) in the Southern Hemisphere, centrally located in the heart of Castle Hill rading Estate.
In-house we have more than 40 years experience in the field of chromeplating and the management of electroplating plants both in Europe and Asia. A vast amount of experience and expertise is required. This expertise is not available in Australia
Walter Schellander, a qualified Metallurgist and Electroplater, who prior to setting up Chrometech in 1990 worked in Hong Kong for 8 years and was in charge for the South East Asia region for a German company called Schering GmbH. Prior to that he worked in Switzerland for 13 years as a Chemical Engineer in R& D for a Swiss and American company. Walter has done High tech applications for companies such as Alcatel, the CSIRO and Lyntech who require anything from plating 2mm of copper onto fibreglass re-enforced resin for submarine cable coupling devices to nickel coating Silicon gel to produce a molecular copy of the silicon gel imprint. This will then be used in mass production applications for medicinal purposes. His expertise also includes copper-plating Teflon for High Frequency application (end user is the Australia military)
Our innovative developments on chrome-plating on plastic and fibreglass in Australia have also widened the application of electroplating to the international film animation market.
The Bronzing Studio-Chrometech performed special effect electroplating for films including Superman, Star wars, Matrix, Terminator, Fools Gold and Wolverine.
We are a member of the Australasian Institute of Metal Finishing and are in industry partnership supporting environmental change in the electroplating industry.
To operate in our industry we hold licences with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Sydney Water and Poisonous Goods.
